Celebrating Fellowship Housing Graduates in June 2024

A few weeks ago, we celebrated six moms who have completed their time in Fellowship Housing and are moving on to their new legacy! We are so incredibly proud of these women and their fierce love for their kids that drives them to build a new future.

We are so grateful for our generous friends and partners that help to create a meaningful celebration for our graduates: West Ridge Community Church provided a beautiful space to host the event; volunteers from West Ridge provided a delicious meal and served it for both the adults and kids; Stacey Gomez provided great photography; Cole from Love Local Media provided tech support; the Women of West Ridge provided gift bags for the moms; Whole Food Schaumburg donated a variety of drinks for the event.

It was a beautiful, encouraging and joy-filled celebration because of all the support provided by each of these groups and individuals. Our 2024 graduates have saved an average of $30,500, paid off an average of 12,400 and increased their credit scores an average of 85 points. Our moms graduating are renting on their own and one was able to purchase her own home.

Here are some quotes from these amazing moms:

"My goal for the future is to continue to keep my daughter safe and to buy a property that I can pass down to her. I never want my daughter to experience homelessness and to go through what I went through. I know that I will make this dream a reality for me and my daughter."

"I knew in my heart I had to take control and do something to be the best mother I could be for my child."

“To all the incredible moms of Fellowship Housing. Recognizing when you need support takes courage. Hold on to that resilience as you continue your journey. Keep your eyes on the future and keep pushing forward. You are amazing mothers and you’ve got this.”

“Now I can see where I want to go in life, which is something I couldn’t do before. My finances are in the best shape they’ve ever been. I have a savings account now! I’ve discovered my own value and learned to trust people again. My children have also changed in amazing ways with goals and faith guiding their choices. They have grown confident and developed strong values.”

Thank you to the amazing volunteers and community at West Ridge Community Church! Your hospitality was off the charts amazing, and the food was delicious!
