Four Moms Celebrated in October Graduation

On October 25th, the families of Fellowship Housing gathered, along with the staff, some board members and partners, to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of four moms who have completed their time in the program.

It was a lively evening, held on the same night as Willow Creek's Trunk-or-Treat. Many of the families enjoyed participating in the Halloween event before the graduation. (Fun, free events are always a welcome gift to the families of Fellowship, as they do not have eating out or entertainment budgets!)

But the highlight of every graduation is getting to hear directly from the graduating moms. Their stories begin with heartbreaking challenges and end with hope and perseverance and joy. They never fail to have us all in happy tears as we hear all they have overcome! Collectively, these four October graduates have raised their credit scores 415 points, saved $93,500, and paid off $52,600 in debt!! Two of these moms will be moving into apartments and renting on their own, one has already bought her own home and one is in the process of purchasing her own home! They have worked INCREDIBLY hard and could not have accomplished all of this without YOUR prayers and support.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the groups who helped make the graduation evening possible. Thank you to the Schaumburg Jaycees, Streamwood Woman's Club, and St. Nectarios Church for providing food for nearly 100 kids and adults that evening. Thank you to the Willow Creek Care Center and Campus Support for providing the space to host the event. Thank you to Denise Nichols for providing background checks for our volunteers. Thank you to the graduated Fellowship Housing moms and Life Changers Church volunteers who watched the Fellowship Housing kids so the moms could have a couple hours off to celebrate together. Thank you to Alyssa Murdock for capturing the evening beautifully through photography. Thank you to Keith Blue for your impromptu set-up help. It takes a village, and we are grateful to each of you that are part of ours.
