Legacy Scholar Cailey Graduates with Honors
In December, Fellowship Housing Legacy Scholar Cailey graduated with honors from St. Ambrose University, completing a nursing degree. Before entering the accelerated nursing program, Cailey graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Augustana College. She is now a registered nurse interviewing for pediatric nursing positions!
Cailey recently shared on Facebook, "I graduated with honors from my accelerated nursing program in December. Over the last month, I've been studying day and night to pass the NCLEX in 75 questions. Up next is finding a job where I can care for kids as an RN."
Cailey's mom, Tracy, is incredibly proud of her accomplishments and shared, "As a mom, you always want your child to do better than you did and go to college and succeed, and to watch her work so hard made me so proud. Seeing her walk down the aisle and get her diploma was a moment I will cherish forever. Not only did she graduate, but she graduated with Honors. I am at a loss for words to describe how I truly feel. Cailey is one of the most determined humans I know! I am so grateful that she has received the legacy scholarship to help her reach that goal. She now is a registered nurse and can pursue her dreams."
Cailey, is Fellowship Housing’s second Legacy Scholar. Started in 2017, the Legacy Scholarship Program helps to break generational poverty by providing financial assistance to children of Fellowship Housing families as they pursue post-secondary or trade school education. Scholarships are available to children of current or graduated Fellowship Housing mothers. Students enrolled or accepted to an accredited post-secondary or trade institution can apply annually for a scholarship for up to four years of their education.
