2020 Golf Outing
And just like that... the 27th Annual Fellowship Housing Golf Outing is behind us. It was a golf outing like no other, and yet we were blessed with an incredible, sunny day for golf with no humidity. Thank you to everyone who joined us! Thank you to Makray for your incredible service through new 2020 challenges. Thank you to each of our sponsors who made it possible to host the event on behalf of the courageous and hardworking moms of Fellowship Housing.
We had 86 Golfers join us; 21 foursomes plus one team of two. Everyone enjoyed passport games this year including a Putting Contest and Beat the Pro sponsored by the Schaumburg PGA Tour Superstore, Fairway Full O’ Flags with All Funds and Games and a Hole-in-One contest for a 2 year lease on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler from Wickstrom Auto Group.
The winning teams for the day were the Jandris Foursome for the Men’s contest and Navitsky foursome for the Women’s, each receiving certificates to return for another beautiful day of play at Makray. Congratulations to them and all of our other contest winners!
Because of Covid restrictions, a typical program to conclude the day together was not possible. Shifting to some new and creative ways of sharing, videos were offered along the course via QR codes and Fellowship Housing moms’ stories shared via course signage. You can check out the videos and story samples below. A special thank you to Joyce Beutler for continuing your golf outing serving tradition by welcoming all of the golfers out to the course in a new way via video!
Continuing another golf outing tradition, the CARS Ministry once again donated a car to help a single mom and her family in need. As we all know, owning a car in the suburbs is not only necessary… it’s costly. For many moms applying to Fellowship Housing securing safe, reliable transportation (a requirement in order to be accepted) is a challenge. The ongoing partnership between Fellowship Housing and the CARS Ministry of Willow Creek Community Church has made it possible for over 27 moms to get into a safe, affordable vehicle. Every year at the Fellowship Housing Golf Outing, the CARS ministry gives a car to one of our moms!
