Elgin Meet & Greet; an Exciting Introduction
In the last year, Fellowship Housing has expanded into into Kane County with 6 new housing units in Elign. The Meet & Greet was born out of a desire to collaborate with our new neighbors and learn how we can best serve the community alongside other organizations who are already well established in the area.
The event received amazing support from local food vendors including Cafe Revive, Five Roses Pub, PRP Wines, Cuisine America, Delish Cakes and Craft Donuts and Coffee. Flower arrangements were provided by Gatherings owner, Lisa Enoch and signage by the talented Artisan Graphics team.
Our venue was provided by the generous owners, Mark and Aimee Novelli, of the recently renovated Imago. Their space now boasts an open floor plan which can hold events for 200+ guests and honors the building’s original historical roots as the Packard car dealership. The charm of the building’s exposed brick and wood beams created the perfect welcoming setting to meet all of our new neighbors.
Event attendees heard a brief overview of the program from Director, Pam Orr followed by a video of graduated mom, Shawna, sharing her own story which actually began in Elgin! Shawna even attended the event and was able to share with guests personally about how the Fellowship Housing program changed the lives of her and her children.
Thank you to everyone who came out to meet our staff and board members at the event. We met loads of local leaders from churches, non-profits, businesses, schools, government and community groups. The impact of the exciting connections made and relationships begun at the Meet & Greet will be unfolding for months, maybe even years to come. We are incredibly excited to keep unpacking all we learned as a team as we live out the mission of Fellowship Housing in the Elgin area.
